Schmuttertal Secondary School wins German Wood Construction Award 2017

Schmuttertal Secondary School wins in the category ‘new building’, at this year’s German Wood Construction awards. Awarded on 23 May 2017 in Hanover, the Deutscher Holzbau Preis 2017 is considered the most prestigious German award for timber construction.

An expert jury evaluated more than 200 works, ranging from ambitious new buildings, to innovative renovations, to pioneering developments in product development.

Owners, architects, structural engineers, and wood construction companies were honoured for their excellent contributions to timber construction. This year, four projects in total were awarded with the Deutscher Holzbau Preis: two outstanding new buildings and two in the category “components/concepts”

The award winners will be presented in the travelling exhibition “HOLZ.BAU.ARCHITEKTUR – Designing, Constructing and Building with Wood”, sponsored by the German Federal Foundation for Environment, which will be touring Germany from the end of May 2017.
