To coincide with this, the architecture museum, together with the specialist department of \u200b\u200btimber construction at the TU Munich, presented the technical, economic and design possibilities of the material at a large exhibition called \u201cBuilding with wood \u2013 The Path to the Future.\u201d As a renewable resource, wood is the perfect blend of nature with technology: it utilises solar energy, stores carbon dioxide and is a universal construction and material.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The accompanying scientific publication analyses the ecological significance, the technological potential and the new aesthetics of the familiar material of nine renowned specialists. &nbsp;50 selected international examples illustrated the new digital production methods, and the architectural diversity of modern wooden structures, from the low-energy house through to wide-span structures and high-rise buildings. \u201cBuilding with wood \u2013 The Path to the Future\u201d is the accompanying book to the exhibition at the architecture museum of the TU Munich in the Pinakothek der Moderne.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wood is an unrivalled natural resource and ecological building material. &nbsp;The United Nations proclaimed 2011 the International Year of Forests.
