{"id":48350,"date":"2016-05-11T12:45:18","date_gmt":"2016-05-11T10:45:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hermann-kaufmann.at\/projekt\/mayr-melnhof-kaufmann\/"},"modified":"2025-07-28T17:55:46","modified_gmt":"2025-07-28T15:55:46","slug":"mayr-melnhof-kaufmann","status":"publish","type":"projekt","link":"https:\/\/www.hkarchitekten.at\/v80\/en\/project\/mayr-melnhof-kaufmann\/","title":{"rendered":"Stallinger, St. Gerorgen im Attergau"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>A company headquarters made from its own product, a prefabricated solid timber frame with no additional casing.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The headquarters of this timber processing company features a novel, extremely economic, and flexible construction made of spruce glue laminate, from the company\u2019s own stock.<\/p>\n<h4>\u00bbThe building represents a convincing application of the potential quality of the construction system adopted, and the concept makes it an extraordinary example of functional rationality and realised efficiency.\u00ab<\/h4>\n<h5>The International Prize for Sustainable Architecture 2011<\/h5>\n<p>The architecture was designed using the very minimum variation in building materials, while employing an optimal amount of solid timber. The objective was to build a very simple structure with minimal wall assembly, while maximising the heat storage capacity of the timber structure and improving the spatial and functional qualities of the building.<\/p>\n<p>The simple architecture consists of large-scaled volumes with a consistent timber finish. It is cloaked in cross-laminated timber canopies and balconies, mounted on steel.
