    Wälderbushaltestelle, Doren

A waiting shelter with a thoughtful design.

In the municipality of Doren, the prototype of the new bus stop “Wälderbushaltestelle” was unveiled, which is not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing. The prefabrication and assembly of this project were carried out by Fetz Holzbau, a renowned timber construction company in Vorarlberg.

The bus stop stands out for its use of high-quality materials, including spruce cross-laminated timber, which naturally undergoes weathering, as well as weather-resistant and pre-rusted steel, also known as Corten steel. These natural materials not only give the bus stop an appealing appearance and organic integration into the landscape but also ensure optimal resistance to various weather conditions.

Practical elements such as bicycle racks are integrated, making the bus stop a versatile and sustainable hub for various modes of transportation. The concept goes even beyond the mere waiting area, additionally offering a circular seating area in the same appealing style. This area is pleasantly shaded by a centrally placed tree.

In remote areas where future bus stops have no direct power connections, a photovoltaic system will be installed as a sustainable energy source to ensure adequate lighting.
